SMART WORKS
Smart Works is a UK charity that provides clothing and coaching for women seeking employment and Needle & Thread has long championed its work. Amongst other things, the charity specialises in dressing and coaching women, allowing them to be the best version of themselves at a crucial juncture in their lives, helping them to regain employment.
Referred from job centres, mental health charities, women’s refuges and youth organisations, Smart Works' clients receive a bespoke dressing consultation to help them find and keep the perfect job interview outfit. Then, one-to-one coaching with an expert provides vital interview preparation.
And so, we couldn’t wait to support The Big Stella x Smart Works Fashion Sale, in collaboration with our friends at Bobbi Brown. The stunning Georgian rooms of London’s iconic Somerset House proved the perfect backdrop to a unique two-day shopping experience. Coveted fashion and beauty brands offered their favourite pieces to shoppers at one-off prices, and all proceeds were donated to Smart Works.
Our founder Hannah Coffin edited and donated a special selection of beautiful new-season designs, including embellished dresses, signature daywear and luxurious knitwear. And in recognition of our longstanding partnership with Bobbi Brown, we also retailed our beloved Bobbi Brown x Needle & Thread Pretty Powerful makeup bag.
"Needle & Thread was delighted to be involved in supporting this prestigious charity initiative. Smart Works offers crucial support to women, helping them nurture their unique skills and inner-confidence through coaching, mentoring and access to a wardrobe of high-quality clothing. This two-day shopping event was great fun, and we’re proud to have played our part." - Hannah Coffin
As you’d expect from an event co-hosted by the Telegraph’s Stella magazine, the rooms of Somerset House were buzzing with shoppers looking for that perfect one-of-a-kind outfit, and the experience did not disappoint. We’re proud to support Smart Works in their quest to transform women’s lives.
